The Genesis of Regenesys
The Regenesys journey began in 1998 when Dr. Marko Saravanja, Dr. Penny Law and Mr. William Vivian came together for the purpose of human development through education. They started with nothing but an idea and a vision.
Our founder Dr. Saravanja, a former monk, came to South Africa from Croatia without any possessions except his orange robes and a passion to change the world. After years of successful humanitarian pursuits, he went on to study and then work at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). He left the university in 1998 to start Regenesys in the quest to awaken human potential and make the world a better place to live.
Regenesys initially operated from a tiny office in a Johannesburg suburb called Killarney, and the first training programme with 20 participants was delivered in a church in the year 1999. The Regenesys footprint has since spread, from these humble beginnings, to having state-of-the-art campuses in South Africa, India and Nigeria.
In our 19-year-long journey, we have achieved several milestones, highlighted below.
Regenesys Business School, South Africa: Located in Johannesburg, Regenesys Business School is ranked one of the top 5 business schools of South Africa (PMR Africa, 2015 and 2016). Regenesys offers both business and public sector programmes. Since 1998, the institute has educated over 1,50,000 students across 195 countries.
Regenesys Business School, Nigeria: Regenesys launched a subsidiary in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2013. Situated on Victoria Island, Regenesys Nigeria offers a range of short learning programmes that are practical, relevant and designed and facilitated by industry and subject matter experts.
Regenesys Foundation: An important step in this journey was the formation of Regenesys Foundation. The Foundation is based on the philosophy that access to quality education is a fundamental human right, and that education provides a powerful tool to address the socio-economic problems faced by the world, including poverty, unemployment and crime. Free education, financial aid and scholarships are some of the initiatives of the Regenesys Foundation.
Regenesys MyWealth: MyWealthInvestments encapsulates the philosophy of financial freedom, equipping individuals with the tools to create, grow and sustain wealth in the financial markets. By providing knowledge coupled with dynamic investment products, MyWealth assists clients to break their fears and pursue their financial freedom.
Dananda: Dananda is Regenesys Business School’s digital education initiative, available in South Africa, India and Nigeria. It provides innovative solutions for issues that disrupt education. Online learning makes education more accessible.
